- Prepare 1 litre of milk.
- Take 2 tbsp of milk powder (optional).
- Get Half of cup of natural yogurt /mala.
Instructions to make Maziwa mala/ sour milk/ natural yogurt / butter milk :
- Bring 1 litre of milk to a boil and hold it at that temperature for about five minutes.
- Let that milk cool until body temperature (it doesn't scald you when you place a finger inside it) with a portion of the cooled milk, dissolve the milk powder in a cup by stirring. To that mixture, add half a cup of mala/ natural yogurt.
- Pour that mixture into the milk and stir to mix
- Transfer the milk into a thermos flasks and cover it. Let it curdle over night to 24 hours.
- Pour into a container and stir/ whisk the mala until its even and smooth. You can blend it where possible.
